Local moving is charged by the hour, but our hourly rate depends on factors like location, whether or not you want us to provide a truck, and the number of crew members it will take to safely and efficiently complete your move. Visit our locations page to get an accurate quote in your area.

We make moves happen every day, 365 days a year. Most moves occur 8 AM - 7 PM, but our team can accommodate after-hour moves when needed.

*Please note—holiday appointments are scheduled on a limited basis.

Yes. Our hourly minimum is only two hours.

If any date and time restraints limit you, we recommend scheduling your move as far in advance as possible, especially if you plan to move in the summer. Moves For Less does not require a deposit or charge cancellation fees, so there is no downside to booking your move early. However, if you call on short notice with a last-minute request, our team will do everything possible to accommodate you and your move.

We accept PayPal, CashApp, Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay, cash, and all major credit cards.

We do not require a deposit on most moves. We understand changes occur and do not believe in enforcing penalties for this. However, if you foresee changes or must cancel your move, we can work with you to reschedule! The advanced notice lets us release your original move date and time to another client on our waitlist.

Moves For Less provides all types of moving services, including local, long-distance, residential, and office or commercial moving. We can even move large or specialty items like pianos, art, and antiques.

We perform local moves within Indiana, Maryland, and Washington D.C. and are happy to assist with long-distance moves outside these states!

Moves For Less can move pianos, but we recommend a professional pool table company to disassemble and reassemble your prized pool table. However, we would be happy to relocate it for you!

Tipping is optional, but our crews appreciate it if you provide a gratuity for exceptional service. The amount is left to your discretion, but we recommend $5-$10 per mover per hour of excellent service.

 

While damage is rare, extenuating circumstances sometimes can result in damaged articles. Our team will always do our best to repair any damages quickly and to your satisfaction. However, if you need to report a damage claim, simply contact your move coordinator, and they will work with you to take care of everything immediately.

Our professional movers carry 1MM cargo insurance in case belongings are damaged in transit. Additional insurance covers items at 60 cents per pound of item weight. Additional coverage is always available upon request.

Yes! Our moving trucks are equipped with dollies, blankets, and all the essentials our crew needs to make your move successful. While basic moving equipment is standard with each move, your move coordinator will itemize any additional materials you may need access to on moving day.

An estimate is just that—an estimate. So, the actual hours of the move may differ slightly. To ensure you only pay for the time you use, all bills are prorated to the closest 30 minutes (after the two-hour minimum has been met).
